Frequently asked QUESTIONS
What credentials do you have?
In addition to my 17 years of experience as a private Chef, I am fully insured and licensed. With this combination , I am able to come to your home and tailor each menu to your vision and preferences and easily implement a multitude of cooking techniques to prepare varying worldly cuisines to your liking.
Do I need to be home when you cook?
No! Most of my clients are out of the home working or doing whatever they love while we are in their home cooking and cleaning. You are welcome to be home and visit the kitchen as frequently as you’d like.
What does a weekly menu look like?
You'll receive a variety of dishes tailored to your preferences and crafted with my expertise. Each menu includes 2 breakfast dishes, 2 lunch dishes, 2 snacks, and 2 dinner dishes, with multiple servings to accommodate your family size. After completing all preparations, you'll receive a detailed menu along with reheating and storage instructions for each dish.
How long does it take for you to complete a weekly menu?
The average menu takes 8 hours for shopping, travel, cooking, and clean-up time. An average schedule is 9am - 5pm. Special requests or additional dishes may take more time. Menu creation and communication times are free for you.
How long does it take for you to complete custom menu planning or recipe testing?
These services are customized to your specific needs, and the amount of research and development required for your project will be determined through communication and consistent updates. Together, we'll find the right balance that you're comfortable with, and I'll remain flexible and adaptable throughout the process.
What happens when we go out of town?
I expect you’ll be traveling for business or with your family at some point! Please alert me of any travel as soon as possible. Because I offer weekly meal-prep services, I block out that day of the week for you for the foreseeable future and do not take any other cooking opportunities for those dates. For travel lasting 7 days (1 week) or less where 1 service will be missed, there is no charge. For travels more than 7 days (or where a second service week would be skipped) and you are expecting services to resume as usual when you return, there are 3 options: 1) a $500 retainer fee per week starting week 2 until services resume; or 2) I can do a complete pantry, cupboard, and refrigerator clean-out and deep clean; and/or 3) You may gift cooking services to a family member or friend. They would pick up the food at your home on their own time. Most clients choose 2 and 3 to utilize my services.
What are your rates and how do I pay?
My rate will be discussed during our initial communication via email or phone call. I charge an hourly rate for my services, along with groceries, any additional labor (if applicable), a service charge, and sales tax. Forget about remembering to settle invoices or sifting through additional emails during your hectic week! My process involves gathering your credit card details through a secure form, allowing me to make secure payments for your groceries at the store and services through Stripe. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for invoicing, ensuring that the event's transactions are swiftly settled. Your credit card statement will reflect separate entries for grocery and service charges. Additionally, you'll receive a paper receipt from the grocery store and an electronic receipt via email from Stripe for services rendered.
